MTV Mama’s award-winning secular star Wahu Kagwi has quit secular music and instead ventured into making gospel songs.

Speaking to Dj Mo on Sunday 12th, the mother of two confirmed rumours that she is born again, which have been rife after releasing her Sifa hit a week ago.

Wahu, who is married to fellow artiste David Mathenge AKA Nameless explained that her journey to salvation has been off and on, citing discouragement from fellow Christians.

“I’d like to say that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour,” she said during an interview Sunday Crossover show.

“Last year, now it has been about one year, is when I went through some issues and that catapulted me to go down on my knees and begin my search for God,” stated Wahu.

“I wrote the song when I was going through a rough patch in my life, like I was riding through an emotional wave and I was contemplating on writing a bad song but instead, I turned to God and got the inspiration to do a triumph song,” the Sitishiki hit maker told Pulse.

“This song comes from a real spot in life when God came through for me. Like King David in the Bible, I cried to Him and he heard me,” she revealed.

Wahu added that she was brought up in a Christian family where going to church was not an option. She admits that she has been discouraged in the church before by leaders who preach water and drink wine.

Wahu said her had husband supported her resolution.

She ended the interview by saying that she values her happiness more than people opinions.
